On this page I will be listing the Frequently Asked Questions I have had people ask me about who are Wealthy Affiliate and what it is that you do there? I will be updating this FAQ from time to time as I get more questions, as well as read more from those who ask and post questions daily within the community.

Q: When did Wealthy Affiliate Start?
A: Wealthy Affiliate started on September 10, 2005
Q: Is Wealthy Affiliate Legit or a Scam?
A: Wealthy Affiliate is 100% legitimate. It is not a scam but rather a highly ranked (by both Google & Alexa) online training community, that has been steadily growing for more than 14 years.
Q: How do I get paid by Wealthy Affiliate?
A: There are a couple of ways. As a Free Starter Member you can refer others to Wealthy Affiliate and earn a monthly recurring payment of $11.75 per person that signs up for the Premium Membership. As a Premium Member you will make 100% more and earn $23.50 per person.
Also as a Premium Member you can create training tutorials and get paid for them as well. Then there is the way a majority of the members get paid, from affiliate marketing with major online retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Apple, and thousands more.
What you will do is promote whatever products they sell by writing a review or provide information about those products and every sale your promotion generates for the online retailer, they pay you a commission. So there are many ways to make money at Wealthy Affiliate.
Q: What will Wealthy Affiliate teach me?
A: Wealthy Affiliate teaches you how to build your own website to start your own online business. You will learn how to make money in Affiliate Marketing and other avenues of an online business.

Q: I am not a tech savvy person. Will I have help building my website and blog?
A: You do not need to be tech savvy, have a college education, or know anything about programming to build a website at Wealthy Affiliate. The building process is easy and fast. See the video on my Getting Started page for a demonstration as to how easy it is.
As for help, you will have extensive training resources and a very helpful community of well over 1,000,000 members world-wide to help you, along with a 24/7 live chat and virtual classrooms. And if that is not enough, you have direct access to the owners Kyle and Carson.
Q: What if I cannot come up with an idea for my website?
A: After the training on how to select a niche, if you still are having trouble, a niche will be selected for you and you will learn everything you need to know about this niche.
However if you do not think the selected niche for you is to your liking, there are thousands for you to choose from. This FREE Training link will give you some ideas for highly profitable niche ideas.
Q: What is a niche?
A: A niche can be almost anything. It can be a passion of yours, a hobby of yours, a type of job, a way of life, practically anything. Q: Learning Keywords and Search Engine Optimization sounds hard, will Wealthy Affiliate teach me how?
A: It is actually not hard at all once you learn the simplicity of it. Too many people tend to over-think the process and thus make it harder for themselves. Wealthy Affiliate will teach you the most current and up to date Keyword Research and SEO techniques.
Q: How current is the training at Wealthy Affiliate? Do they keep up with all of the changes?
A: Yes. Wealthy Affiliate updates their website training every year. If any major changes should happen before or after an update, many of the online business entrepreneurs within the community will create alternate training resources.

Q: You mention about the community. Can I ask questions and get support from the community?
A: You most definitely can! Matter of fact the help and support you get from the community is one of the many shining stars of the entire Wealthy Affiliate experience. More often than not you can post a question in a classroom, on Live Chat, or within the comments section and get an answer within 5 minutes.
Depending on the time of day and where you are located in the world, a response with an answer may take a little longer if it is the early morning hours. However there is always someone active within the community because Wealthy Affiliate has members all over the world.
Q: I see Wealthy Affiliate teaches affiliate marketing. Isn’t affiliate marketing and thus Wealthy Affiliate a scam?
A: No. Real Affiliate Marketing is a reputable form of marketing practiced my many well-known companies like Amazon, Sony, Geico, Alamo Rent-A-Car, AT&T, Lego Toys, GameStop, Best Buy, Kohl’s, Apple, Footlocker, Puma, Microsoft, Wal-Mart and thousands of other companies large and small.
If Wealthy Affiliate and affiliate marketing as a whole were a scam, NONE of these companies would take part in it. It is important to note that many of the online scams are claiming to be affiliate marketing when in reality they are Multi-Level Marketing (MLM). Check out my Is This A Scam page for more details.
Q: OK, so how does Wealthy Affiliate work?
A: First you want to join and I highly suggest you join as a Free Starter Member so you can see if this is really for you. Wealthy Affiliate will teach you 10 full lessons that will allow you to build a Free WordPress website and to start filling it with content.
If you like what you see and want to learn more after completing the entire first free Certification Course, you can pay for the low monthly fee (As Shown in Image Above) and continue on with the training. Or you can stay a Free Starter member for as long as you like and grow your website on your own.
Q: How long will it take me to start making money with Wealthy Affiliate?
A: It all depends on the niche you select and how you go about creating your online business. If you do not put in a solid effort of working every day to consistently build your business, making your first sale will take longer.
Making money in an online business is no different than a Brick and Mortar business, with the exception of one thing. With an online business, you can make more because your customers are all over the world on the internet.
Q: I currently have a 9 – 5 job, can I still take and benefit from the training offered at Wealthy Affiliate?
A: You absolutely can! Matter of fact, it is best to start the training while you are still employed whether you are on salary or minimum wage, full time or part time, and/or you have your own business. Building a business of any kind will take time.
Though an online business is global in nature, it will still require constant effort to make it grow. The training at Wealthy Affiliate can be done at any time and at any pace that you desire. There are no time restrictions, so you can learn and even earn at your own pace.

Q: Does Wealthy Affiliate give a money back guarantee? – John Worthy
A: There is no need for a money back guarantee. Wealthy Affiliate allows everyone to join as a Free Starter Member and allows them to learn the basics of website building within 10 Free Certification Course Lessons as well as 10 Free Bootcamp Lessons.
Every Free Starter Member in addition to the basic free training will also get a Free Fully Functional WordPress Website that they can build. The only time that a member will have to spend any money will be when the Starter Member upgrades to the Premium Membership.
Wealthy Affiliate gives all new members the chance to try out the training for free and if they should like to upgrade, then they can make the decision to pay for it. If they should decide to upgrade within 7 days, Wealthy Affiliate will give a 59% discount off the first month membership cost.
Q: I don’t have my own product to sell, how can I make money online with Wealthy Affiliate? – Fred Chong
A: You do not need your own product to sell online as there are many ways you can make money selling other peoples products. With Affiliate Marketing you can place ads on your website from companies like Amazon or Target or any other retailer.
When someone comes to your website to read your content or get answers to their search engine queries, when they then click on an advertisement and purchases product from that ad, you get a percentage on the total cost of the sale.

Can I do WA from India?
Yes. Wealthy Affiliate can be done in any country in the world and WA currently has many members from India. The only problem is that India, just like Bangladesh, Egypt, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines and Vietnam, cannot take advantage of the free starter membership and must begin as premium. Those that are serious about having their own internet business, have no problems with this.
These countries have been tagged by financial institutions for being suspect to money fraud so members to WA have to start as premium members. But that is only a minor let down because in order to be successful at building and running a profitable online business, spending only 49 dollars per month for complete and total access to training, tools and resources, is still the best opportunity on the internet.
Hello there, is it possible now that I have joined and close to the 5 step to change this afflant name from me to my fiancé. Reason is that I receive benifits from social security in my country now
If you are talking about the domain name, you cannot change that. But if you are talking about the name of your website that appears at the top of the website page, you can change that.
I don’t believe you’re legit so I don’t expect to get an email. A year or so ago when I tried to sign up with you, I got scammed by an affiliate of yours called Spotify (imposter of Postify). I see you have NO contact information whatsoever and I learned from your last scam to NEVER send money to anyone I cannot contact. So I’m thinking YOU are the scammer and fraud NOT MTTB. Not expecting an answer.
You obviously have Wealthy Affiliate confused with someone else. First off to join is completely free and there is no cost at all to become a member and start the training. Secondly there is no system that prevents anyone from joining if they don’t pay, again because it is free to join, learn and build. And third Wealthy Affiliate has no affiliates named Spotify or Postify in their member database.
I most certainly do have contact information. My email address is on my About Me page. As for Wealthy Affiliate’s contact information, you can find it at the bottom of their home page, it would not be on this website, I am only a member. And yes, you should never send money to anyone you cannot contact, that would be irresponsible. And since I do not ask for any money anywhere on this website, nor does Wealthy Affiliate (unlike MOBE/MTTB) neither I nor Wealthy Affiliate are a scammer and fraud.
This program sounds really interesting. I would like to ask you a few questions:
1.Its not so clear for me how we can make money. I understand we can monetize traffic on our websites, but how it works on Amazon and what kind of selling you mean? Does it works like dropshipping?
2. I know there are not any time limits, but how long it can ussualy take to make some money? I dont have any problem to invest some times into this and be patient, but on the other hand after some time I would like to have some feedback to make sure I´m doing nothing wrong. It is possible to start making some profit after first 2-3 months?
3. What will take more time. Learning all informations or making and improving websites and all online bussines in practice?

Hi Tom! Here are the answers to your questions.
1) It is not Drop Shipping. But just like drop shipping you do not have to ship the product. This is called Affiliate Marketing and most retailers both small and large have affiliate marketing programs, Amazon is the largest in the world. Affiliate marketing is when you promote a product and the buyer clicks on the ad you have on your website that Amazon (or any other retailer) gives you. The buyer is sent to the Amazon Shopping Cart on the Amazon website. Whatever the total cost of their purchase, Amazon pays you a percentage of that cost. 2) The time depends on how quickly and efficiently you go through all of the steps of the process. It took me 5 months before I made my first sale, some people take less time and some take longer. There is a lot that needs to happen before you can make money in affiliate marketing but once it is set up it works itself. This is why many people who do affiliate marketing have more than one website that they make money from. However there are other ways to make money with the knowledge you gain from the training while waiting for your website to become profitable. As for whether you are doing it wrong, you will know pretty early on if that is the case. Between the easy step by step training and the community participation and coaching every member gets, including all questions answered, you will know the correct way of doing things.
3) Not sure I understand your last question. Learning the information is actually quite simple. The time consuming part is you putting it into action. And being that you can work at your own pace, it all depends on you. Building the website is simple, takes about a minute to get it programmed and hosting set up and then another few minutes to get the basic plugins activated. The only other time consuming part is getting Google to highly rank you. They are not the swiftest when it comes to new websites but as time goes by and they get to know you so-to-speak, they become faster in their response times.

Hi Robert! I have met some of the issues surrounding WAU as I like to call it, as you know,
I am even a member and study there. When I have been asked more than once what it really is so I have come a bit on pasterns and have had little hard to come up with a quick, short answers. what it really is.
But one thing is certain it is a real business that I have created in there with the ups and downs that have become commonplace to have a real business.
But it is actually only here I have tried to make money online.

Sorry Sten, but the training is only in English at this time. There are several Swedish members taking the training. I can ask them how they are doing with it in English. They have been here for a year now.
