How to make money in Affiliate Marketing

Did that video get you excited! I know when I first watched it, I started thinking of all the items on Amazon I could promote and make money from.

Now that you have that amazing and easy way of making money online still in your head, let me give you an example of what this type of business is and how it worked for me when I started.

One of my websites is about Video Game Testing and I write webpages and blogs about how to test video games. Then I become an affiliate of companies that sell video games, like Amazon and Best Buy.

It is 100% Free to become an affiliate of any company. These retailer’s then check out my website to make sure I am legitimate and not some scam website, and then they will approve my affiliate request.

I Affiliate for Best Buy too!

Once I am accepted as an affiliate, Amazon, Best Buy, or whomever I am affiliated with, will send me advertisements for the video games that they sell. Each of these advertisements have an embedded affiliate code unique to me only.

I then place these ads on my website. When someone comes to my website and reads my content review on the games, then decides to buy the game, they then click on the ad I have on my website to place an order.

When they click on the ad, they are sent to the retailer’s website shopping cart to complete the payment transaction. Then the retailer will pay me a commission of the total sale amount.

It is that simple! I basically use my website to advertise the games and the entire purchasing process takes place on the retailer’s website. I do not have to stock or mail the product, nor deal with the customer.

How does the commission payment work?

I am going to give you an example of what I made from just one person, who purchased from one of my Amazon advertisements. The person purchased a Call of Duty video game for the PlayStation 4 and some other items. This is what the customer bought:

1. Call of Duty PS4 = $47.99
2. Need for Speed PS4 = $49.64
3. RED 2 DVD Movie = $11.07
4. iPhone 4S Case = $8.99
5. Canon PIXMA All-In-One Photo Printer = $288.99
6. Canon Photo Paper = $6.99

Even though the person purchased more than just the Call of Duty game, I still get paid a commission on the TOTAL price of the entire order, shipping & handling not included. The total came out to $413.67 and my commission was 8% or $33.09, all from just one person.

That time I mentioned at the beginning of this post where I made $100, it was from 3 different people all who purchased the same video game but went on to buy other things too.

This is one of the reasons why I really love making money online in affiliate marketing. It truly is amazing how easy it is to make money once you have everything set up.

The hard work is mainly writing all of the pages and posts of content. But the building of the website (only takes about 1 minute) and the sales of whatever is being promoted/advertised on the website, are the easy parts.
